Wireless Neuro-Controlled Prosthesis

Involves, real-time, high resolution measurement of the electromyogram (EMG) of two muscle groups associated with hand and wrist.

  1. opponens pollicis (thumb flex)
  2. pronator quadratus (wrist rotate)

This dual channel EMG data is sampled at 2000Hz and wirelessly transmitted at 2.4GHz, using a bidirectional digital communications scheme (BioNomadix – BIOPAC Systems, Inc.). Data is received and then integrated and further conditioned to drive gripper and wrist servo motors.
