“This is Digitalker”

An art project that illustrates preliminary technical work in the 1970s, on digital speech synthesis, for the purposes of enhanced human / computer communications. Based on a chipset from National Semiconductor, now obsolete. “This is Digitalker” is reminiscent of the uneasy and complicated dialog between people and machines at the beginning of the modern computer era.
